An independent report on the product or installation in question.

Expert Inspection

What is an expert inspection?

An expert inspection carried out by independent consultants who specialize in the areas they are commissioned to investigate. In depth reports are produced that can be used to further cases that have been brought to us or in courts of law as evidence.

The independent inspector will visit the product or installation in situ and examine the item in-person.

We also offer a virtual inspection service where inspectors examine evidence submitted by either a business or consumer and writes a report based on these submissions.

Virtual inspections can be used in cases where it is deemed an emergency or where there are geographical restrictions.

More information on virtual inspections can be found on this page.

Do I need an expert inspection?

That depends on whether your dispute is with a member or a non-member.

The expert inspection process

  1. The product or installation is examined by one of our qualified, independent professionals
  2. A report is prepared, including technical data, images and expert opinions.
  3. This report is then used by the parties, or a court, to make decisions on the validity of the issues in dispute, the cause and the appropriate remedy where possible

Dispute is with a member

If your dispute is with one of our members, visit the raise a dispute page to begin your complaint application.

Dispute is with a non- member

If your dispute is with a non-member, we cannot resolve your case with the retailer directly. However, we can carry out an expert inspection which can help you resolve the dispute yourself.
